Upon selection of paper type, the intelligent printer driver automatically selects the type of black ink needed (Matte or Photo Black), thereby eliminating the need for manual ink cartridge switching and reduces time and wastage.  In addition, the new professional photo printer supports large capacity ink cartridges (80ml) to further cut down ink changing frequency, boosting productivity and efficiency.

To complement the capability of the EPSON UltraChrome K3 inks to produce smooth colour tones, Epson's Variable Sized Droplet Technology (VSDT) can adjust the size of the ink droplet to be ejected from the print head.  This way, large ink droplets can be used to cover large colour blocks and minute ink droplets will be utilised for fine printing purposes.  This unique capability also ensures high-speed output.
