Singapore, 1st November 2005 - Epson, the world leader* in data projectors has announced the launch of the EPSON EMP-62 and EMP-82 projectors. This pair of speedy projectors offers ease of use and versatile applications in a compact, stylish design and projects at brightness levels of up to 2000 lumens.
Essential Speed
Both the EPSON EMP-62 and EMP-82 are equipped with Epson's proprietary 'Instant Off' feature allowing users to power off and pack up the projector almost instantly, without the necessity of waiting for cool-down compared to traditional projectors. With the 'Instant Off' feature, these projectors are capable of a four-second startup and an almost zero-second shutdown. Thus allowing the EPSON EMP-62 and EMP-82 to hold the record for the fastest total start-up and shutdown time in the world for projectors**. This means users can eliminate awkward wait-time during presentations and go on to deliver the most impactful presentation.
"World-class speed is the key essence in both the EPSON EMP-62 and the EMP-82." said Mr Kent Lew, Manager, Visual Instruments at Epson Singapore. "Add to that, Epson's 3LCD Technology and E-TORL (Epson-Twin Optimize Reflection Lamp), the EPSON EMP-62 and EMP-82 can easily go into any presentation settings and impress with its speedy and high quality performance."
Versatility virtue
Specially designed for educational purposes, the EPSON EMP-62 and EMP-82 are incorporated with a wide array of connection interfaces that allows up to 2 computers and 2 video sources (eg. DVD player and VCR) to be connected simultaneously, empowering users to interchange between multiple sources at the touch of a button on the remote control. In addition the 'monitor out' and 'audio out' interfaces on the EPSON EMP-62 and EMP-82 offer the option to connect to an external monitor or sound system for professional presentation setup.
To make the EPSON EMP-62 and EMP-82 even easier to use, a powerful built-in 5W speaker, a rare feature in portable projectors, provides all the bells and whistles required to create a truly multimedia experience in any presentation or training setting.
Seven preset colour modes (Presentation, Theatre, Game, Photo, Sports, sRGB, Blackboard) available on the EPSON EMP-62 and EMP-82 ensure that users are able to select a mode that best suits the viewing environment, without having to meddle with minute adjustments, a thoughtful feature that is especially helpful for first-time users.
Space not a constrain
Even in areas with space constraints, the EPSON EMP-62 and EMP-82 are able to project a 60-inch screen from as near as 1.8m from the projection surface. With the Automatic Vertical Keystone Correction function, the EPSON EMP-62 and EMP-82 can be positioned vertically up to 30 degrees off-center and still make distortion-free projection without the hassle of any manual adjustment.
The SVGA EPSON EMP-62 and XGA EPSON EMP-82 are available at all Epson authorised dealers from 1st November, at $1,999 and $2,599 respectively.
About 3LCD Technology
3-panel Liquid Crystal Display ('3LCD') is a projection system using three LCD panels (also known as high-temperature polysilicon or HTPS). A projector with the 3LCD system uses dichroic mirrors to break the white light from the lamp into red, green and blue light. Each of the three colors of light is then passed through its own LCD panel and then recombined by a prism before being projected onto the screen. The result is smooth-moving images with rich, full color, since all three basic colors are included in each pixel of the projected image at all times. Images projected with 3LCD are bright, natural and are gentle on the eyes.
