Singapore, 25 June 2007 - Epson, the world's number one brand in data projectors for the last six consecutive years*, has launched the EPSON EMP-X5/EMP-S5 and EPSON EMP-822 comprehensive multimedia projectors.  Featuring built-in speakers, the projectors are ideal for delivering engaging multimedia presentations in boardrooms, meeting rooms and classrooms.  With a maximum weight of 2.9kg, they are also portable enough for mobile use without having to lug additional sound components.

EPSON EMP-X5/S5
The EPSON EMP-X5/S5 offers the full suite of essential projector functions that are user-friendly even for first timers.

As a standard feature for Epson's range of business projectors, the projectors include an A/V mute slide panel in front of the projectors' lens.  When the projector needs to be temporarily suspended for breaks or talks to take place, simply push the A/V mute slide to cover the lens to fully cut-off light source and reduce internal fan noise.  To continue with the presentation, just pull back the A/V mute slide.  This effectively removes unwanted delay in turning off and turning on the projector.
 
For mobile users, the quick Start-Up time of just five seconds means presentations can be up and running almost immediately.  The Instant-Off function with zero cooling down time is also excellent for users who need to pack-and-go. 

EPSON EMP-822
In addition to the common features listed above, the EPSON EMP-822 also offers network functions as a standard feature (via built-in RJ45 port) - a rarity for projectors in this class.  This feature allows users to control up to 1,024 units of projectors through a single remote PC.  This means a user can oversee and control multiple projectors and also monitor the working condition of individual units concurrently, while seated at his desk.  To ensure long-term and uncomplicated operations, users can also set email alerts (via the bundled EPSON EMP Monitor software) to forewarn against potential problems before they arise. 

It is now fast and easy to set up engaging audiovisual presentations.  The EPSON EMP-822 is equipped with a built-in 7W speaker which is powerful enough to fill a room size of 40 persons.

*Low brightness mode.  These are not guaranteed number of lamp hours, but the recommended lamp hours after which the lamp should be replaced to ensure optimum picture quality.

The EPSON EMP-X5/S5 and EPSON EMP-822 are equipped with Epson's proprietary 3LCD and E-TORL (Epson-Twin Optimise Reflection Lamp) lamp technology.  The results are images that are smoother, more natural and easy on the eyes even with prolonged viewing. 

Through an energy-conserving design, both series of projectors have significantly reduced power consumption to just 231W.  The projectors will also automatically shutdown if the A/V mute slide has been closed for 30 minutes.   

Security for the projector
For added peace-of-mind, users can guard their investment with a combination of security features.  The integrated tough security bar (which allows the Kensington lock mechanism) protects against physical theft of the projector unit, while the password protection upon start-up safeguards against unauthorised use.
