In line with its award winning range of scanners, Epson introduces the EPSON Perfection 3490 Photo

Singapore, 29th September 2005 - Epson, the world leader in digital imaging and printing solutions has announced the launch of the EPSON Perfection 3490 Photo. Ideal for home users and photo enthusiasts, Epson's latest launch incorporates a more efficient scanning process and optimal image enhancing features. 

 

Its resolution of 3200 by 6400dpi, 48-bit colour depth, impressive film scanning capability and EPSON Easy Photo Fix software allow users to restore colour and monochrome film and photos in digital format for sharing and archiving purposes. The EPSON Perfection 3490 Photo's MatrixCCD sensor with On Chip Micro-Lens technology delivers supreme clarity and colour consistency so that users can create stunning scans with rich and brilliant colours.

Enhanced features for stunning images
The EPSON Perfection 3490 Photo comes with an improved film holder that fits four frames of 35mm filmstrips or three 35mm mounted film frames. Scan photos and documents of up to A4 size, and transfer data quickly and with ease via the USB 2.0 Hi-Speed interface.

 

With EPSON Easy Photo Fix, users can now save old photos damaged by age. The Color Restoration function can be used to restore colour and monochrome film and photos, while the Dust Removal function allows users to remove 'white spots' caused by dust specks stuck on old film.

 

With four buttons located conveniently on the control panel, scanning has never been easier. Start, Copy, Scan to Email, and Scan to PDF options allow users to scan documents, photos and film into email programs or PDF files at the touch of a button.

 

Smart software for precision and efficiency
The EPSON Perfection 3490 Photo comes bundled with the EPSON Creativity Suite - a selection of utility software for the ultimate convenience in image management and platform for creativity with photo projects. Central to the EPSON Creativity Suite is EPSON File Manager, an application launcher and photo management software. Besides viewing and searching for scanned images and photos archived in the PC, EPSON Creativity Suite allows users to do simple editing and printing of images. Images from an external source such as a digital camera can also be uploaded via EPSON File Manager for easy storage management.

 

Programs such as the ABBYY® FineReader® 6 Sprint, ArcSoft PhotoImpression 5 and the NewSoft Presto! BizCard 4 Limited Edition have been included with EPSON Creativity Suite for versatility and convenience. 

 

The EPSON Perfection 3490 Photo which comes with an optional multi photo feeder, will be available from September 2005 at a recommended retail price of $268.
