Singapore, 9 December 2005 - Epson, the world leader in digital imaging and printing solutions has announced the launch of the EPSON Stylus Photo R350. The EPSON Stylus Photo R350 is a full-featured, PC-free printer that offers the convenience of a 2.4" premium photo viewing monitor and several memory card slots to offer ease of use and supreme quality.
This latest model from the EPSON Stylus Photo family offers better colour saturation to achieve brighter reds and monochrome. It also comes with the PhotoEnhance feature that automatically detects and adjusts photos that are too dark due to backlit subjects. The EPSON Stylus Photo R350 also has the capability of printing directly onto the surface of inkjet-printable CDs and DVDs. It prints from the center to the edge of the CDs or DVDs without any visible blank space to achieve a cleaner, more professional look.
"Top-notched quality and unconstrained versatility for photo direct printing guide the design of the EPSON Stylus Photo R350, making it live up to its promise of a premium photo printer that accepts no compromise," said Mr. Siew Jin Kiat, Manager, Digital Imaging, Branded Product Division, Epson Singapore.
More connectivity and versatility
Users can opt to print directly from various types of memory cards through the multiple card slots, USB Direct Print or PictBridge, or via Bluetooth (with Epson's optional Bluetooth adapter) from mobiles devices. Users can also print directly from USB flash drives. The EPSON Stylus Photo R350 can even back up data to Zip drives, CDs and DVDs. The EPSON Stylus Photo R350 has the common 4R photo settings at default for convenience. In addition, it supports Digital Print Order Format (DPOF) for easy one touch printing.
High quality & fast prints
The EPSON Stylus Photo R350 can speed through any photo printing task with its fast photo print speed. Epson's patented BorderFree photo printing technology enables this printer to deliver beautiful, frame-ready, borderless prints in all of the popular sizes without requiring any trimmings or tearing perforations.
Easy to use control panel with built in LCD
Equipped with a class-leading 2.4" wide-angle LCD, wired and wireless photo direct connections and a simple to use control panel, the EPSON Stylus Photo R350 ensures users are pampered with the ease of PC-less operating capability. Users can select, crop and print their favourite photos without ever having to turn on a computer.
This printer also has an intuitive, user-friendly control panel with simple on-screen menus, that provide users with the flexibility to make selections such as paper type, paper size and number of copies without fuss. One of the most convenient features of the new control panel is Epson's exclusive "print by date" option. This option provides users with a simple way to locate the photos they want by selecting them based on the date the pictures were taken. The panel also gives users the ability to view photos with or without on-screen text, to view and select photos using thumbnails and to easily select a wide range of photos for printing.
Users can toggle between the different functions easily and can even perform PhotoEnhance or finetune their images through the LCD without using a PC.
High quality front loading direct CD printing without labels
With six-colour INKdividual Photo Dye ink that offers 5760 x 1440 optimized dpi using minimum 3pl ultra fine ink droplets and Advanced Micro Piezo® print head for precision colour and detail, the EPSON Stylus Photo R350 is easily the most affordable ink jet solution available today for printing onto printable CDs and DVDs. Users can easily create customized CDs and DVDs with personalized text, graphics and photos; and with the printer's convenient front-loading tray, it's easy and fast.
Image Quality Enhancements
The EPSON Stylus Photo R350 utilizes Epson's latest PIM III and PhotoEnhance for colour and image enhancements, which improves the quality of prints. Colour saturation is a key enhancement that makes prints look richer and brighter. This is especially noticeable in photos with a large amount of yellow and red in them.
The PhotoEnhance feature automatically detects photos that contain subjects with a bright background and then intelligently adjusts accordingly to achieve a well-exposed photo. This automatic image enhancement feature will be able to correct photos that most users would otherwise delete or choose not to print. PhotoEnhance also aids users to obtain the highest quality prints without the need to go through the extensive and tedious image adjustment process. The EPSON Stylus Photo R350 also features the EPSON Creativity Suite software with EPSON File Manager and Easy Photo Print to ensure the most convenient software support. PRINT Image Framer (PIF) Contents and Designer with Disney frames are also available for creative printing.
Best demands
For users who demand only the best in photo printing on a versatile platform, do note that the EPSON Stylus Photo R350 is available at a recommended retail price of $358.
