Singapore, 12th October 2005 - Epson, the world leader* in data projectors has announced the launch of the EPSON Dreamio EMP-TW600 3LCD home projector. With a class-leading 10-bit processor and 5000:1 contrast ratio that generates the truest visuals, the HDTV-class 720p EPSON EMP-TW600 home projector yearns to perform in the homes of the most discerning users.

Advanced Technology
The advanced 3LCD technology in the EPSON EMP-TW600 reproduces bright, natural images that are without colour breakup. Combined with the new generation HDTV LCD panels, the EPSON EMP-TW600's 1280 x 720 resolution allows for a 1:1 pixel match with a 720p HDTV source to reproduce crisp and sharp images without any image distortion.

An intelligent 'Auto Iris' opens and closes its shutters in the EPSON EMP-TW600 to regulate the lamp brightness at 60 times per second to correspond to the images on the videos.  When bright scenes are projected, the iris will open to reproduce brighter whites and, conversely, the iris will close when dark scenes are projected to achieve more realistic blacks.  What's more, the EPSON EMP-TW600 is equipped with a built-in Epson Cinema Filter to accentuate colour accuracy and gradation to achieve true to life images. The end result is a mind-boggling 5000:1 contrast ratio which reproduces images so real that you can almost immerse in the actions of the movie.

Equipped with HDMI terminals that carry out instant digital-to-digital signal processing, the EPSON EMP-TW600 is able to perform with minimal signal noise and present the sharpest images every time.

Second is not best

Too clever to stop
The EPSON EMP-TW600 can reposition its projection up to 2 screen-width laterally and 3 screen-width vertically, all available without image distortion, thanks to its wide-range lens shift function. In addition, its short throw lens and wide zoom ratio also means that the EPSON EMP-TW600 is able to project an 80 inch screen from as close as 2.4m or as far 3.6m from the screen which gives greater flexibility in positioning the projector in various locations.

As accurate as it gets
While most other projectors have the basic RGB colour adjusents, the EPSON EMP-TW600 has a six axis (RGB/CMY) colour adjusent feature which enables the most discerning users to obtain the most accurate colour settings in any projection conditions.

About 3LCD Technology

3-panel Liquid Crystal Display ('3LCD') is a projection system using three LCD panels (also known as high-temperature polysilicon or HTPS). A projector with the 3LCD system uses dichroic mirrors to break the white light from the lamp into red, green and blue light. Each of the three colors of light is then passed through its own LCD panel and then recombined by a prism before being projected onto the screen. The result is smooth-moving images with rich, full color, since all three basic colors are included in each pixel of the projected image at all times. Images projected with 3LCD are bright, natural and are gentle on the eyes.
