Singapore, 4 July 2007 - Epson, a world leader in digital imaging, has announced the launch of the EPSON Perfection™ V200 Photo scanner.  Beneath the slim and sleek design, this scanner complements its powerful scanning capabilities with a host of software functions designed to help achieve perfect scanning results.  

Advanced film scanning capabilities
With the advent of digital photography, more users are updating their image library to a digital collection.  The EPSON Perfection™ V200 Photo scanner is the ideal tool for users who are keen on keeping abreast with this latest trend. The new scanner pushes the boundaries of dedicated entry-level scanners for home users and photo enthusiasts by offering high optical resolutions of up to 4800dpi with a 48-bit colour depth. 

The scanner comes equipped with an easy-to-use film holder which has the capacity of scanning six frames of standard 35mm filmstrip or four frames of 35mm mounted slides, all at one go.

Intelligent software takes away complications
The EPSON Easy Photo Fix is a powerful software which includes Colour Restoration, Improved Dust Removal, and a Backlight Correction tool. The Colour Restoration smartly identifies faded colours in old photos and injects them with a dose of colour to bring back the radiance. The Improved Dust Removal tool removes common image defects such as dust, scratches and other age-related blemishes.  Finally, the Backlight Correction tool analyses and compensates brightness, sharpness and colour balance to ensure that every scanned image is pixel perfect.

For an added measure of fun, the EPSON Perfection™ V200 Photo scanner is also bundled with the EPSON Creativity Suite for easy image management and ArcSoft PhotoImpressionTM 6 for all your photo editing needs.  The handy ABBYY FineReader 6 Sprint PlusTM Optical Character Recognition software scans and converts documents into editable text format.

Intuitive design and layout
The EPSON Perfection™ V200 Photo scanner comes with an innovative hinge to allow the lid to be opened fully at 1800.  This design allows the scanner to easily handle thick books, magazines and 3D objects.  In cases where the lid needs to be closed, the scanner can accommodate objects of up to 25mm thickness. 

To simplify scanning tasks, the stylish scanner features four One-Touch scanning buttons located on the front panel.  These keys provide fast direct access to the scanner's most common functions including start, copy, scan to PDF and scan to email.
