Singapore, 25th April 2006 - Epson, the world leader in digital imaging and printing solutions, has announced the launch of the EPSON Perfection V700 Photo. Equipped with the new dual lens scanning system it enables the professional user to scan super high resolution (6400 dpi) of 35mm, 2 1/4" and 4"x5" medium format film. High resolution (4800dpi) scanning is also available for transparencies and reflectives, allowing images to be produced for very large format printing purposes including bill boards.

Depending on the resolution selected by users, this new advanced technology enables the lens carriage to switch and allow the appropriate lens to be set in place automatically. This will save time, and production costs, for those scanning multiple film formats, eliminating the laborious task of changing the lens manually. The EPSON Perfection V700 Photo features Digital ICE Technologies. A powerful tool, it automatically removes scratches and dust from film, and numerous surface defects from reflectives, producing an image that closely resembles the original.

This scanner can achieve optical density (Dmax) of 4.0, allowing users to capture details in highlight and shadow areas. This is a key benefit to professionals like graphic designers who rely on the utmost details from any scanned job, saving them the time to retouch any document in post production.

Easy Photo Fix software also comes with the EPSON Perfection V700 Photo scanner. This software offers users the ability to restore colour to faded/damaged scanned images. Other benefits include grain reduction and dust removal.

The EPSON Perfection V700 Photo also includes the latest commercial industry software - the LaserSoft Imaging SilverFast SE6 - compatible with Digital ICE. Industry standard creative software applications, Epson Creativity Suite and Adobe Photoshop Elements, are also bundled with this scanner.
