The Miniature World - Invoke Your Senses Photography Exhibition
epSITE, Epson Imaging Gallery Showcases “The Miniature World – Invoke Your Senses” Photography Exhibition

Singapore, 30 September 2005 epSITE, Epson Imaging Gallery, in conjunction with Boon Lay Community Centre Photographic Club, has today launched The Miniature World Invoke Your Senses photography exhibition. For the first time, the gallery will be showcasing works from four of the finest nature photographers in town - Wang Ching Guey, Richard Khoo, Chin Kim Loy and Sam Mgon. The exhibition aims to raise the quality of digital imaging to the highest standards possible, promote the appreciation of visual arts in Singapore and most importantly, make visitors aware that we truly have a very precious environment amongst the cosmopolitan city of Singapore.

For the past five to six years, the Boon Lay Community Centre Photographic Club committee convene regularly at the break of dawn to embark on nature photography expeditions. These keen-eyed photographers are able to show how close to nature we often are but perhaps we dont even realize it. The exhibition will consist of images from different locations such as remote nature reserves, gardens, and community parks, jogging tracks along the reservoirs and colourful macros of the insect world.

The Boon Lay Community Centre Photographic Club was formed on 3 April 1977. It has grown from just a small body to become one of the most prestigious and active photography clubs in the Peoples Association. Working closely with the digital imaging consultants at epSITE, the photographers have produced fifty pieces of original nature prints and Epson was able to take the main source and create an original print through the development of high-resolution, premium-quality and outstanding output colour imaging products. The Epson Imaging Gallery celebrates the diversity of digital art and takes advantage of the powerful output that Epson professional graphics printers deliver.

On behalf of the four photographers, Wang Ching Guey, Vice Chairman of the Boon Lay Photography Society said, It is truly an honour to be able to be given a chance to share our inspirations and passions of nature photography with the community at large. The club has been actively promoting photography through community activities and we feel that such events create a sense of community spirit, especially in appreciating our environment in Singapore. Epson has helped us to showcase some wonderful images and we hope that the community will appreciate our environment as much as we do.

Epson wants to create an environmental and strong digital art awareness in Singapore and The Miniature World Invoke Your Senses project has done just that. With Epsons latest printing technology and revolutionary UltraChrome K3 pigment ink system, Epson has ensured that the images of wild life and nature are presented vividly and reflect accurately the colours at capture. Mr Tan Haur, epSITE Manager said, Epson is committed to supporting the local communities in which it operates and is also a strong advocate for the protection of the environment. With Epsons union of art and technology, the photographers have been able to achieve richer, true to life colours on print. With the longevity of the prints being a key feature of Epsons technology, future generations are ensured at least of images of a natural world that they may never get to experience.

The The Miniature World Invoke Your Senses photography exhibition will run from 1 October until 13 November 2005 at epSITE, Epson Imaging Gallery located at Level Three, Wheelock Place. The gallery is open Monday Sunday (11am 9pm daily) and admission is free. For further information please contact the gallery on Tel: 6736 4986 or visit www.epson.com.sg.
