We have made a real impact on sales
The hair salon business is about looking good and keeping styles and fashions fresh. Customers are attracted to a salon that is cool and up to date with fashion trends. We have to keep them feeling that we are in touch with the latest fashions.
Marketing and promotional materials are an important part of this. We’re constantly doing new and interesting posters to show off our hair styles. Our company has the largest salon in Taiwan which is under the control of the headquarters here.
Just what we needed
In this case, the area supervisor first saw the Epson Stylus Pro 7600 at a PC store showcase and knew it was just what he needed. He was in charge of most of the initial market research for us and realized what suited Show Lin best. He found the Epson Stylus Pro 7600 to be user-friendly, requiring little manpower, and suitable for company such as ours.
Previously, we used an Epson Stylus Colour 3000 which can print as large as A2, and the quality was very good. But if anyone needed a larger poster then they’d just get smaller posters and stick them together, which doesn’t create a good effect. We have always had a demand for larger posters, mostly A1, so we made them by sticking two A2 posters together. We generally don’t use outside printing houses, so we have to make do with what we have in-house.

Since getting the Epson Stylus Pro 7600, the most obvious result has been the ability to do more larger sized posters. But also very noticeable and very important is the incredibly vivid and saturated colors. Of course color matters a lot for a hair salon, you can’t have poor quality when you’re trying to sell yourself.
Another feature that was an added bonus for us is superior water-resistant, Epson UltraChrome Ink. With this ink, we don’t need to worry about ruining color prints if you spill water on them or touch them with wet hands, and you can imagine how important this feature is for a busy, messy hair salon.
Delivering color quality and giving greater flexibility
In terms of economics, we definitely have benefited from the time saved in doing posters and banners. We like each individual salon to have it’s own unique characteristics. Before we got the Epson Stylus Pro 7600 that wasn’t really possible because of the time and effort involved in doing one poster. Now, we have a lot of diversity because the time savings can be used to make different designs. In total, we do about 10 posters and 100 banners a week.
Another of the extra benefits from having the larger size of the Epson Stylus Pro 7600 is that we are now using it for 3D displays to promote product sales. In one particular case, we made about 100 displays on heavyweight (870gm) paper for a body cleansing lotion. We put the displays on each counter in front of the clients to show off the product and I can tell you we boosted sales on that product by about 20 percent because of those 3D displays.
The best part is, it really wasn’t so complicated. We just printed the design and folded the displays into place. Now that we have started to understand the real advantages of the Epson Stylus Pro 7600 we have already bought three in total and are looking to buy more so that all salons can enjoy the benefits.
