From our origins as a watchmaker, Epson has expanded into ever-smaller and more precise world-leading
micromechatronics.
|
|
Through its roots as a watchmaker, Epson has a
long tradition of developing products that are smaller and
more precise, and of designing and producing all necessary
parts internally. This tradition, which has enabled Epson to
create some of the best watches in the world, reaches back to
the Company's founding. Today, it serves as the foundation
for the Epson mindset that has encouraged us to follow a path
of creativity and challenge.
Our focus on precision has enabled us to develop the
world's most advanced micromechatronics capabilities,
allowing for ultrafine, high-precision processing. This
technology is utilized in all of Epson's products, such
as the spring-driven Credor Spring Drive wristwatch that
boasts an accuracy to within one second per day, on a par
with quartz watches.

Another example is
found at the heart of color inkjet printers: the Micro
Piezo head, which fires ultrafine droplets of ink and
allows customers to enjoy superb photo-quality printing. |
| Just
a few of the other products that incorporate Epson's
micromechatronics include plastic lenses that
provide a greater level of comfort and reliability,
high-precision robots and handlers, and rare earth
magnetic bonding products. |
