12. How to replace an ink cartridge
1.
If the paper is jammed in the paper path, take all the paper
out of the sheet feeder, press the maintenance button, then reload the paper.
Make sure of the following:
n
The paper is smooth, not curled or wrinkled
n
The paper is of high-quality, loaded with the printable side
up
n
The paper stack was fanned before loading
n
The paper is not loaded above the arrow on the left edge
guide
n
The left edge guide is adjusted to fit your paper
n
Make sure that the printer is on a flat, stable
surface that extends beyond the printer base in all directions. The printer
will not operate properly if it is tilted

No:
Go to Checkpoint 2
2.
If the error light remains on, turn the printer off, open
the printer cover and gently pull out any paper that may be jammed in the paper
path.
Does it solve the problem?
Yes: Solved
No: Go to Checkpoint 3
Note: If you cannot remove the foreign
object by yourself, do not use force and do not disassemble the printer. Call
your dealer for assistance.

Is this the first time the paper is jammed?

Adjust the guides against the stack of paper.

Try fanning the paper. Pick up and use your thumb to flick
through the paper. This should separate any pieces of paper which maybe stuck
together.
