Q: Part of the image is distorted or blurred.
A: Be sure the document is uniformly flat and smooth. The document table has non- readable areas around the edges. Reposition your document so that the image you want to scan is within the readable area.
Q: Color is patchy or distorted at the edges of the image.
A: If the document is very thick or warped at the edges, the edges of the image may be discolored. Cover the edges of the document with opaque paper to block outside light. If the document extends beyond the edge of the document table, part of the document may not be in contact with the table. Change the position of the document.
Q: When I scan pictures from magazines or books, the image on the screen has a lattice pattern on it.
A: Due to the resolution of the scanner, the scanner can emphasize the texture of the paper that the image is printed on. This is a normal. To reduce or eliminate this effect, scan the image using a 'DE-SCREENING' setting in the scanner software. Using Epson Twain, this setting can be found in the Image Type dialogue box.
Q: When I use the Automatic Document Feeder with Adobe Photoshop 5.0 LE, I can only scan in 30 pages and then scanning is terminated.
A: Adobe Photoshop has a maximum limit of 30 open images that it can handle during a session. This limit is not dependent on scanner resolution settings or images size. Limit the number of documents to be scanned to 30 or less or you may want to contact Adobe Photoshop for further information.
Q: I get a memory error when I try to scan with Photoshop 5.0 LE from my macintosh.
A: Set Preferred memory in PhotoShop 5.0 LE to twice the suggested memory size. (select the PhotoShop 5.0 LE desktop icon, then select File, Get Info.) Turn Virtual memory off (From the apple icon, select Control Panel, Memory.) Assign a scratch disk ( Start PhotoShop 5.0 LE, then select File, Preferences, Plug-ins & Scratch Disks.) Restart your Macintosh. |
