Click "Start", point to "Settings", then click "Printers".
For Windows 95 and 98, select your printer, then click Properties on the File menu. For Windows 2000, select your printer, then click Printing Preferences on the File menu. For Win NT4.0, select your printer, then click Document Defaults on the File menu. The printer driver opens.

When printer is connected via parallel port, printer does not respond to a print job. It keeps loading / ejecting the paper or printing garbage. What’s wrong?
Please perform the followings:
Check whether the parallel cable used is a Bi-directional parallel cable. If the cable is not a Bi-directional parallel cable, please get one.
Check your PC system CMOS / BIOS setting or parallel mode or LPT port. Please set to either ECP or Bi-directional mode.
Check whether your PC has Anti-Virus software called "PC-Cillin". If yes, please uninstall the software and then send to print again. You may have to uninstall the PC-Cillin software under Safe Mode setting in your PC. It means that when the PC boots up, you press F8 to go to Safe Mode setting and then go to "Add/Remove Programs" in Control Panel to remove the software.
1. Check the margin setting in your application software. Make sure the margins are within the printable area of the page.

5. If you cannot print correctly with proportional printing or print layout options, try one of the following:
1) Try setting print properties from the application's Print dialog box before printing; or setting print properties from control panel, then restart your application. For example, to print from Microsoft Word 7.0 or Word 97 do the following:
From the File menu, select Print.
Click Properties.
Select the Paper menu.
Set the desired paper size.
Select the Layout menu.
For Proportional Printing ("Reduce/Enlarge" in WinNT/2000), select Fit to Page, then select the desired paper size. After clicking OK, the Properties dialog box closes and the Print dialog box displays again.
Make any other selections in the Print dialog box, and click OK.
2) Problems can occur when settings for Print Quality, Proportional Printing (Reduce/Enlarge for Win NT/2000) or Print Layout have changed since the document was created. Try adjusting margins and font sizes. If your application has a print preview feature, use it before printing. If you are Win NT/2000 user, make sure to place enough spaces to the edges of your document when you use Reduce/Enlarge Printing.
3) If you are using more than one page size in the document, you can either divide the document into sections, each of which uses a single page size, or do the following:
Select File / Print / Properties or Setup
Select the Paper menu.
Select the paper size that corresponds to the largest paper size used in your document.
Select the Layout menu.
Select "Fit to Page", then select the paper size which you have loaded in the printer.
Select "Custom". All pages in your document are scaled to the largest page.

1. Select your printer as the default printer in Windows.

-Imported grayscale images may be printed in black due to a bug in Designer. For correct output, set the color setting to Color.
Adobe Illustrator 4.0
Setting the Print Quality to "Fine - 720dpi" or "Superfine - 1440dpi" sometimes causes parts of images or graphics to not print correctly. If this is the case, set the Print Quality to "Normal - 360dpi", or use "Fine - 720dpi" with Finest Detail set to off.
Windows Help
The bitmap images contained in a help file may print incorrectly. Set the Print Quality to "Normal - 360dpi" or, use "Fine - 720dpi" but turn Finest Detail off.
Microsoft Word 7.0
Thin colored lines are sometimes printed in black and white. This problem does not occur in Microsoft Word 97.
LotusAmiPro3.0
When you compress an image vertically, the location of the print output no longer matches the location shown on the screen. For displays with less than 256 colors, the color of the object on the screen and in the print output can be slightly different.
Lotus WordPro96
When printing seems slow, try temporarily closing down WordPro96 - or - displaying the Epson Spool Manager. This will allot more processing time to the print job.
