Powered by a new PowerPC 750 central processing unit rated at 400MHz and faster memory, the Epson AcuLaser C8600 combines high-speed USB transmission (a first in this product class) to optimise the printing experience for high productivity and tremendous output speed.

The Epson AcuLaser C8600 sports a true, 600-dpi optical resolution but can deliver 2400dpi-class output quality. This is possible even at a 600-dpi setting thanks to an advanced print controller. Combined with Epson’s exclusive AcuLaser Colour technologies such as Multiple-Screen Printing and Fine Dot Control, the Epson AcuLaser C8600 promises razor sharp, accurate colour reproduction.

Reprinting documents or printing large volumes frequently is now simpler with improved print job management capabilities incorporated into the Epson AcuLaser C8600. With the optional hard disk drive unit, you can store frequently printed jobs (eg. invoices) for reprinting directly from the printer bypassing the PC. You can also verify data content by printing the first page of a multi-copy document to avoid wastage. If you have confidential documents to print, a four-digit password can be assigned and then keyed in directly on the printer when you're ready to print. You even print directly for faster output by storing overlay data (eg. logos) on the hard disk in a form template and retrieving it when you're ready to print. All job management functions are incorporated into the Epson AcuLaser C8600’s contro panel and can be activated with a simple click.

Flexible Options and User-Friendly

You can share the printer across a network using the optional Epson Net 10/100 Base TX internal print server which plugs into compatible   network protocols seamlessly for easy and efficient printer sharing. An additional Type B slot is available for optional interface cards such as IEEE 1394, etc. Alternatively, you can connect via a USB 1.1 or IEEE 1284 in a smaller peer-to-peer network.

For advanced print processing capabilities, the Epson AcuLaser C8600 features an optional Adobe PostScript 3 card that can be plugged in to offer advanced graphics and text applications. Best of all, upgrading can be performed via a easy slide-in controller board for PC100 memory expansion, PostScript DIMMs, and the hard disk drive.
